TMD

Dentist in Chantilly

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is what connects the lower jaw (mandible) to the temporal bone of the skull. This joint allows you to smoothly move your jaw up and down or from side to side. If you experience any pain or discomfort while chewing, speaking or making any movement with your jaw, contact the Chantilly Dentist PC office to schedule an evaluation.

You may be experiencing symptoms for TMD or temporamandibular disorder.

TMD can cause severe pain or discomfort if left untreated. Some of the common symptoms for TMD may include:

  • Pain when opening or closing your mouth
  • Trouble chewing
  • Jaw locking
  • Headaches or ear pain
  • Popping sounds when opening your mouth

If you suspect you may have TMD, contact our office to schedule a consultation. The Chantilly PC team will help diagnose you and provide relief for TMD.
